Schon immer faszinierte mich die russische Literatur. „Der Meister und Margarita“ ist ein Roman von Michail Bulgakow. Meine Illustrationen zeigen den Hauptstrang der Geschichte, die in Moskau um 1930 spielt. Ich konzentrierte mich auf die das Geschehen um die Protagonistin Margarita, ihre Verwandlung zur Hexe und den Höhepunkt, ein mystischer, dämonischer Abend. Die Textauszüge aus Bulgakows Buch ergänzte ich durch magische Pflanzenrezepte.

Russian literature always fascinated me. “The Master and Maragarita” is a novel by Mikhail Bulgakov. My illustrations show the backbone of the story which takes place in Moscow around 1930. I focused on the events around Margarita, her transformation into a witch and the climax of the story, a mystical demonic evening. I amended the excerpts from Bulgakov’s novel with magical plant recipes.
