„Toxic“ ist eine Graphic Novel, bei der die Leser:innen eine Toxic Tour miterleben, bei der Guide Donald einer Besuchergruppe die Schauplätze und Konsequenzen der Erdölextraktion im Ecuadorianischen Amazonas um die Stadt Lago Agrio zeigt. Grundlage für die Erzählung bildet die (Feld-) Forschung der Kulturanthropologin Amelia Fiske.

„Toxic“ is a graphic novel that takes the readers on a “toxic tour”, during which Donald the guide introduces a visiting group to the places and to the consequences of oil extraction in the Ecuadorian Amazonas area and around the city of Lago Agrio. The story is based on field research by the cultural anthropologist Amelia Fiske.
