Zwei thematisch unterschiedliche Arbeiten bilden auf formaler und materieller Ebene Parallelen. Beide Arbeiten eint ein Spannungsmoment zwischen Zerfall und Entstehung in Form und Material. 1: Schutzfragment Der Entwurf einer Installation auf dem Vorplatz des Verwaltungsgebäudes der Muthesius stellt an dem konkreten Ort oberhalb eines Bunkers die Frage nach Erinnern und Vergessen. Das fragmentierte Gebäude unterhalb der Erde wird durch eine fragmentierte Dachkonstruktion, die in der Symbolik auf die vergangene Schutzfunktion des Bunkers verweist, an die Platzoberfläche geholt. Das Gefälle des Platzes fragmentiert die Struktur des Daches. 2: Steinkohlenflugasche SFA Das Innere wird zum Äußeren, die Asche stülpt sich nach Außen. Sie hält für den Moment in der Form, die wie ein massiver Pfeiler wirkt, und ist zeitgleich schon im Begriff zu zerfallen. Das in der Betonindustrie als Zuschlagstoff verwendete Abfallprodukt der Energieindustrie wird selbst zur Form.

Two thematically different works form parallels on a formal and material level. Both works share a tension between decay and creation of form and material. 1: Schutzfragment The design of an installation on the forecourt of the Muthesius administrative building raises questions of remembrance and forgetting at the specific location above a bunker. The fragmented structure below the ground is brought to the surface through a fragmented roof construction, symbolically referencing the bunker's past protective function. The slope of the forecourt fragments the structure of the roof. 2: Steinkohlenflugasche SFA The interior becomes the exterior as the ash is turned inside out. For the moment, it holds its shape, resembling a solid pillar, while simultaneously being on the verge of decay. The waste product of the energy industry, used as an aggregate in the concrete industry, becomes the form itself.
