Entwurf für ein urbanes Hafenbad

Das BaakenBad ist ein Entwurf für ein Hafenbad im Quartier Baakenhafen in der Hamburger HafenCity. Am Ufer des Baakenhafens entstehen Wohn- und Bürogebäude und durch soziale Wohnprojekte, viele öffentliche Räume und die Universität mittendrin, wird das Quartier belebt und durchmischt. Das Hafenbad, welches aus einem schwimmenden Ponton mit eingehängten Becken und einem festen barrierefreien Steg besteht, belebt die Sonnenseite des Baakenhafens und bietet einen inklusiven Raum für alle, die die Nähe zum Wasser genießen möchten. Durch seine Form werden die Promenade sowie die umgebenden Räume und Gebäudestrukturen ergänzt und einbezogen. Zwei Pontons sind von unten mit heimischen Wasserpflanzen begrünt, welche Lebensräume für Kleinlebewesen in der Elbe bieten und zur Verbesserung der Wasserqualität beitragen. Für Komfort sorgen unterschiedliche Sitzgelegenheiten, öffentliche WCs, Duschen sowie Umkleidekabinen. Für die kälteren Monate gibt es eine Sauna mit einem Becken zum Eisbaden.

Design for an urban harbor bath

The BaakenBad is a design idea for a new public space in the Quartier Baakenhafen in HafenCity Hamburg. Modern residential and office buildings are being built on the shore of the Baakenhafen, and the social housing projects, the public spaces, and the university in the middle of it all will enliven and mix the neighborhood. The harbor bath, which consists of a floating pontoon with suspended pools and a fixed barrier-free pontoon, enlivens the sunny side of Baakenhafen and offers an inclusive space for all who want to enjoy nature and water. Its shape complements and incorporates the promenade and surrounding public spaces and building structures. Two pontoons are planted with native aquatic plants from below, which help to improve the water quality and provide habitats for small animals. Comfort is provided by various seating areas, public toilets, showers as well as changing rooms. For the colder months there is a sauna with a small pool for ice bathing.
