Speckstein, 2,70 x 2,70 m

Die Arbeit "Substanz" beschäftigt sich mit Raum und Negativraum. In den ca. 5 kg schweren Speckstein habe ich zunächst Löcher gebohrt, bevor ich ihn nach und nach, mithilfe von Feilen und Schleifpapier, ausgehöhlt habe. Aus dem anfallenden Steinmehl ergab sich eine Fläche von ca. 2,70 x 2,70 m, auf welcher der Stein ruht.

Soapstone, 2.70 x 2.70 m

The work "Substance" looks space and negative space. I first drilled holes into the soapstone, which weighed about 5 kg, before gradually hollowing it out with the help of files and sandpaper. The emerging stone flour resulted in a surface of approximately 2.70 x 2.70 m, on which the stone rests.
