Eisweiß als Gegenstand der Forschung In meiner Arbeit gehe ich der Eisweiß-Farbe nach: Wie sie mir in Eisbohrkernen erscheint, wie sie einen Auszug im Spektrum der Weißtöne bildet und wie mein Eindruck eine Übersetzung in keramische Glasuren findet. Ich erhalte mehr als 300 Proben. Endlich ist eine Skulptur entstanden, eine Visualisierung des Eisweiß, das sich im Inneren des ewigen Eises in den Polarzonen verbirgt und seit Jahrhunderten schichtet. Die über 3 Meter hohe Säule trägt das Bild des Bohrkerns in monumentalisierter Form. Die physische Repräsentanz, die hochgebrannte und resistente Keramik, die sinnlichen und subtilen Kontraste sind mir künstlerischer Ausdruck für das ewige Eis, das nicht ewig ist, für das kostbare Gut unserer Erde, das durch steigende Temperaturen in seiner Fragilität und Zartheit schwindet.

In my work I trace the ice white color: How it appears to me in ice cores, how it forms an extract in the spectrum of whites, and how my impression finds a translation into ceramic glazes. I receive more than 300 samples. Finally, a sculpture is created, a visualization of the ice white that hides inside the Eternal Ice in the polar zones and has been layering for centuries. The column, over 3 meters high, bears the image of the drill core in monumentalized form. The physical representation, the high-fired and resistant ceramics, the sensual and subtle contrasts are me artistic expression for the Eternal Ice, which is not eternal, for the precious good of our Earth, as fragile and delicate as it is, is disappearing due to rising temperatures.
