Die Form der Blüten ist angelehnt an die von Herbstzeitlosen. Sie stehen in der griechischen Mythologie für die zweite Hälfte des Lebens, da sie anders als die meisten Blüten erst im September anfangen zu blühen. In meiner Installation soll sie stellvertretend für die zweite Hälfte der Menschheitsgeschichte stehen. Sie ist wunderschön, genau wie unser privilegiertes Leben scheint. Jedoch ist es ein letztes Aufblühen, bevor die Katastrophen immer heftiger werden. Bezogen auf den Klimawandel befinden wir uns zeitlich an einer Schwelle zur Veränderung. Diese Schwelle will ich darstellen. Wir befinden uns am Beginn vieler verschiedener drohender Katastrophen. Langsam spüren wir auch die Auswirkungen einiger Veränderungen. Aus den Blüten tropft sehr langsam, aber kontinuierlich Wasser heraus. Es sickert durch das Material der Herbstzeitlosen hindurch. Durch das Tropfen entsteht ein direkter Zusammenhang zwischen den Handlungen der Menschheit und den Auswirkungen auf die Ebene darunter.

The shape of the flowers is based on that of autumn crocuses. In Greek mythology, they stand for the second half of life, because unlike most flowers, they only begin to bloom in September. In my installation, the autumn crocus should represent the second half of human history. She is beautiful, just like our privileged life seems. However, it is a last flourishing before the catastrophes intensify. With regard to climate change, we are on the verge of change. I want to represent this threshold with the autumn crocus. We are at the beginning of many different looming catastrophes. We are also starting to feel the effects of some changes. Water drips out of the flowers very slowly but continuously. It seeps through the material of the autumn crocus. Through the dripping, there is a direct connection between the actions of humanity and the effects that arise from the elixir of life on the level below.
