Kaum ein bildender Künstler prägte die Moderne wie Pablo Picasso. 1941 schrieb er angesichts des Zweiten Weltkrieges ein absurdes und surrealistisches Theaterstück unter dem Titel „Wie man Wünsche beim Schwanz packt“ und führte es in seinem Wohnzimmer mit den führenden Denkern des 20. Jh. auf, darunter Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus und Simone de Beauvoir in der Besetzung. Das Stück bildet durch das écriture automatique ein Glanzstück experimenteller Poesie und zeigt brüsk und drastisch und gleichzeitig poetisch und literarisch virtuos die groteske Absurdität des Krieges auf. Es handelt sich um eine interdisziplinäre Kooperation zwischen der Muthesius Kunsthochschule und dem Theater Die Komödianten. Unter der Leitung von Regisseur Markus Dentler und Medienkünstler Arturo Sayan wird mit Studierenden eine offene Inszenierung im Sinne eines ausdrucksstarken Spektakels angestrebt. Das Arbeitsergebnis bildet eine transmediale Collage aus live aufgeführtem Theater und filmischen Elementen.

Hardly any visual artist shaped modernism like Pablo Picasso. In 1941, in the face of World War II, he wrote an absurd and surrealist play entitled How to Take Desires by the Tail and performed it in his living room with the leading thinkers of the 20th century, including Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus and Simone de Beauvoir in the cast. With its écriture automatique, the piece is a highlight of experimental poetry and shows the grotesque absurdity of war brusquely and drastically, and at the same time with poetic and literary virtuosity. It is an interdisciplinary cooperation between the Muthesius Academy of Art and the theater Die Komödianten. Under the direction of director Markus Dentler and media artist Arturo Sayan Students strive for an open staging in the sense of an expressive spectacle. The result of the work is a transmedial collage of live theater and cinematic elements.
