Buchkomposition aus vier Romanen

Das Bucharrangement „Der Friedhof der vergessenen Bücher” inszeniert die Tetralogie bestehend aus „Der Schatten des Windes”, „Das Spiel des Engels”, „Der Gefangene des Himmels” und „Das Labyrinth der Lichter” des spanischen Autors Carlos Ruiz Zafón (1964 - 2020). Die vier Bücher sind als vier Eingänge zu einem großen, labyrinthischen Erzählkosmos über die Geheimnisse von Barcelona zu verstehen. Innerhalb der vier Hauptromane gibt es weitere eingeschobene Romanabschnitte, die in dieser Gestaltung separat gebunden sind. Die insgesamt neun Buchkörper bilden eine Komposition, die die Silhouette Barcelonas abbildet und über den Titel, der sich über alle Cover zieht, zusammengesetzt werden kann. Die Innentypografie unterstützt das labyrinthische Motiv und lässt Raum für Zafóns ornamentale Sprache. Der Leser muss sich in diesem literarischen Labyrinth bewähren und den richtigen Weg durch die Gestaltung finden.

Book composition of four novels

The book arrangement “The Cemetry of Forgotten Books” stages the tetralogy consisting of “The Shadow of the Wind”, “The Angel‘s Play”, “The Prisoner of Heaven” and “The Labyrinth of Lights” by the Spanish author Carlos Ruiz Zafón (1964 – 2020). The four books are to be understood as four entrances to a large, labyrinthine narrative cosmos about the mysteries of Barcelona. Within the four main novels there are further inserted novel sections, which are bound separately in this design. The total of nine book bodies form a composition that depicts the silhouette of Barcelona and can be put together using the title that runs across all covers. The interior typography supports the labyrinthine motif and leaves room for Zafón‘s ornamental language. The reader has to prove himself in this literary labyrinth and find the right way through the design.
