Eine Virtuelle-Realitäts-Installation.


Ausgangspunkt und Bezugspunkt meiner Arbeit ist die Installation „FREIHAND“ von 2017 im urbanen Raum Kiel der Künstler*in Regine Schulz. Das Zentrum des Kreises befindet sich auf einer von Häuserfassaden eingerahmten Freifläche. Im Kreis, mit geschlossenen Augen stehend, lässt sich über die von der baulichen Umgebung reflektierten Geräusche die urbane Nutzung des Ortes erahnen. Der Verkehr von Autos und Fahrrädern, spielende Kinder, der Wind, pausierende Menschen, Vögel, Passanten. 
Die Installation generiert über deine Bewegung am so neu kreierten Kreis eine soundbasierte Form im virtuellen Raum. Im Zentrum des neuen Kreises mit dem Durchmesser von 100 cm befinden sich drei Sensoren. Jeder Sensor ist mit einer originalen Tonaufnahme vom Zentrum des Kreises in Kiel verknüpft und jede Tonaufnahme steht für eine sich bewegenden Form. Die Installation lädt dich zu einer suchenden Bewegung im eigenen Tempo und eigener Weise ein.

A Virtual Reality Installation.

The starting point and reference of my work is the installation "FREIHAND" from 2017 by the artist Regine Schulz, located in the urban space of Kiel. The center of the circle is situated in an open space framed by building facades. By standing inside the circle with closed eyes, one can perceive the urban usage of the place through the sounds reflected by the architectural surroundings. The traffic of cars and bicycles, playing children, the wind, people taking a break, birds, and passersby. Through your movement around the newly created circle, this installation generates a sound-based form in the virtual space. In the center of the new circle, which has a diameter of 100 cm, there are three sensors. Each sensor is linked to an original sound recording from the center of the circle in Kiel, and each sound recording represents a moving form. The installation invites you to explore and move within the space at your own pace and in your own way.
